  College Application Essays

Each year, admission officers must reject thousands of applications from prospective students. Consequently, students have realized that to distinguish themselves from huge applicant pools, they must ensure that every aspect of their application is of the highest standard. Perhaps the most important document in the entire application package is the essay or personal statement.

Admission committees expect that the applicant has spent many months writing and rewriting his or her essay, and thus, they expect a perfect document. Even a small error in grammar or punctuation can lead to the dismissal of your application. These problems are even greater for non-native English speakers who may not realize that their application has a fatal flaw.

Students who choose to have their essay edited by a professional editor can significantly increase the chance that they will be accepted by the university of their choice. Our experienced editors have the skills that can turn an ordinary essay into an extraordinary essay.

An excerpt from a graduate business school application essay:

Original:

Since very young age growing in Hong Kong, I am looking at the many tall towers and think that I want to run large international businesses like the men in the towers. I grow up very poor and work very hard for my educated life. My mother always tell me to work hard and study hard and I will become big success. I am not yet there, but I feel that I am coming. I have great respect for your world-famous program. The people of Hong Kong will recognize it immediately when they hear that I am a graduate and this will help me to realize my childhood dreaming.

Since early childhood, I have dreamed of a career in business. Growing up in Hong Kong, I watched the businesspeople going to their offices in the magnificent towers, and I knew that I wanted to be a part of their world.

Because my family had few monetary resources, I grew up in an atmosphere that encouraged hard work and academic excellence as a way to improve our station in life. As a university graduate, I believe that I have moved closer to where I want to be. However, an MBA from a prestigious institution like yours can help me realize my ultimate dream to one day take my place in the gleaming office towers of Hong Kong.
